Congress Laughs And Boos Biden Over Claims About Oil And Gas Industry

President Joe Biden was both booed and laughed at over remarks that he made about the oil and gas industry on Tuesday night during his State of the Union address.

Biden claimed that the industry made record profits during a global energy crisis because they “invested too little of that profit to increase domestic production and keep gas prices down.”

“Instead, they used those record profits to buy back their own stock, rewarding their CEOs and shareholders,” he claimed. “Corporations ought to do the right thing.”

In fact, Biden is the one who clamped down on domestic drilling by canceling drilling leases. He instead lifted energy production sanctions on socialist dictatorships in countries like Venezuela.

“We’re going to need oil and gas for a while,” Biden admitted at one point, leading to boos from Democrat members of Congress.

Biden was later laughed at by Republicans when he said “we’re going to need oil for at least another decade” because the U.S. is going to need oil for a lot longer than just another decade.

Biden just said we only need another decade of oil use and everyone laughed at him 😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/fvPae30q3M
