Actress Brooke Shields dropped a dime on the late John F. Kennedy Jr., telling radio shock-jock Howard Stern that he had left her to get a cab when she refused his advances.

The “Suddenly Susan” actress, who joined Stern for his eponymous Sirius XM radio show on Tuesday, prefaced her story by admitting that she had been “madly in love with him” practically since she was a toddler.

“My mom, [Teri Shields], would say, ‘That’s the boy you’re going to marry,’” Shields said of the late son of President John F. Kennedy.

When the “Blue Lagoon” actress finally met JFK Jr., the two went on a “real date” in Aspen, Colorado — which Shields said culminated with “the best kiss I’ve ever had in my life. Beyond … not disappointing.” But when it became clear that the attorney was interested in taking things further, she said that she had balked.

“I froze, though, because it was so precious to me. I was like, ‘Oh my God, you’re falling in love and if you sleep with him, he may not talk to you again and you can’t handle that,’” she told Stern, explaining that it was not a strategic decision to play hard to get so much as it was an act of self-preservation because she had “kind of loved him too much.”

“I wasn’t playing a game, I really was just — I was so afraid of being really hurt,” Shields, who was still a virgin at the time, added. “Because if I slept with him, I would have given him my entire universe, my heart, my everything.”

Shields went on to say that her instincts had paid off, noting that once it became clear that she was not going to sleep with him, JFK Jr. had left her to her own devices to find her way home.

“I had to get a cab home, which was a little less than chivalrous, in my opinion,” she recalled — and admitted that the next day, things got even more awkward: when she saw him on the ski slopes, he didn’t speak to her or even acknowledge her presence.

“He didn’t look at me and he didn’t talk to me. And on the one hand, I was like, ‘S***.’ On the other hand, I was like, ‘Oh, thank God, thank God,’” she concluded, saying that she realized that he still might have ignored her even if she had slept with him. “He showed his true colors in that.”
